What we keep, and how to let it go.
Your museum holds some of the most personal things you can write. We keep as little as we can, we never sell it, and you can delete all of it whenever you like.
What we store
- Your answers to the three questions, and the name you put on the entrance.
- Your photo, if you add one. It is resized in your browser first, which removes hidden details such as its GPS location.
- Your email address, only if you choose to keep your museum or sign in.
- Notes you send us through “Tell us what you think”, with your email only if you add it. They are not linked to your museum.
- Your email for the printed edition, only if you ask to hear when it is ready. We use it for that one message.
- A sign-in cookie, so your browser stays connected to your museum. We use no advertising or tracking cookies.
Who can see it
Only you, until you turn on sharing. Then anyone with your private link can walk through your museum. Turning sharing off closes the link at once. Shared museums are kept out of search engines. A photo has its own hidden address: anyone who copied that address can still open it until you change or remove the photo.
Who helps us run it
- Supabase stores your museum, your photo and your sign-in.
- Vercel hosts the website and counts visits without cookies.
- Resend sends sign-in emails.
- Your browser’s speech service (Google in Chrome, Apple in Safari), only if you tap “Speak instead”: it turns your voice into text. We never receive the recording, only the text you keep.
- Cloudflare runs our domain and a short check that you are a person, not a bot.
They process data only to provide these services. We do not sell your data, show ads, or use your words to train AI.
How long we keep it
Until you delete it. If you never add an email, your museum lives only in this browser: clearing your browser data loses the way back to it, and we cannot recover it for you.
Deleting everything
Use Delete my museum at the bottom of your museum. It removes your answers, photo, name, email and account for good, even if your museum is sealed. You can also write to us and we will do it for you.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you, and you can complain to your local data protection authority.
